If you need it, you can buy additional protection for the classes of specialty property listed below. That way, you only pay for the protection you need.

Bikes, sporting equipment + watercraft

Any personal and portable equipment used for athletic or recreational activities, including:

  • Cycling
  • Equestrian
  • Fishing
  • Golf
  • Hang-gliding
  • Hockey
  • Hunting
  • Paragliding
  • Shooting
  • Skating
  • Skiing
  • Snowboarding
  • Surfing
  • Windsurfing

Please note that bikes fall under our definition of sporting equipment.

Watercraft means any commercially manufactured devices, with seats, used to transport person(s) across a body of water. This class of specialty property also includes all related property like accessories, equipment and trailers. Examples of watercraft include boats, canoes and kayaks.

Please also note that the maximum payable for any single item of bicycles, sporting equipment or watercraft is $3,000, unless the item is listed on your policy.

Business property

Any property that you own pertaining to, or intended for use in, your trade, profession or occupation

This include cameras, computers, sporting equipment and tools that you use to earn an income.

Fine arts + collectibles

Fine arts means visual art considered to have been created primarily for aesthetic purposes and judged for its beauty or meaningfulness, including:

  • Paintings
  • Sculptures
  • Drawings
  • Watercolours
  • Graphics
  • Limited edition prints
  • Other pieces that cannot be easily replaced

Collectibles means items collected as a hobby, for display, or as an investment or store of value, including:

  • Sports card collections
  • Comic book collections
  • Sports memorabilia
  • Rare or signed or first edition books
  • Coin collections
  • Stamp collections
  • Oriental rugs
  • Porcelain ware
  • Fine designer crystal
  • Silverware

Jewelry + watches

Objects designed for the adornment of the body, including:

  • Necklaces
  • Bracelets
  • Rings
  • Earrings
  • Watches
  • Smartwatches

Please note that this class of jewellery and watches also includes precious stones.
